Australia Dismisses Unfounded Claims Concerning FYROM Name Issue

Claims that Australia will be recognizing FYROM with its constitutional name are inaccurate, according to the recent statement of an Australian PM’s Spokeman.
Recently, the Australian Macedonian Human Rights Committee (AMHRCA) claimed falsely on its website that Australia would recognise FYROM by their constitutional name.
The inaccurate statements concerning the change of Australia’s policy on FYROM’s name came from the decision taken by the Australian Government to change its directive concerning the Australian-Skopje community being recognized under the name “Macedonian” instead of “Slav-Macedonian”, used since 1994.
The Australian government stated that it will continue to use the name FYROM until a solution to the Name Issue can be found.
