Sotiris Hatzigakis has been deleted from ND

Any MPs that will not give a confidence vote to Papademos’ government will also be deleted

Antonis Samaras has thrown Sotiris Hatzigakis out of the PG of ND, sending a clear message to the centre of the party that he will not tolerate any more disputes.

The statement by the MP of Trikala and former executive of the party that caused his deletion was the following: "I want to express my strong opposition to some right-wing droplets with the label of popular Right, which are trying to alter the character of New Democracy. ND is a great European bourgeois party with many trends. It has a popular and liberal right, and certainly a middle area."

Hatzigakis was informed of his removal from the press and allegedly said "I feel liberated now and can say what I really think." The words on "right-wing droplets" that "adversely affect the character of ND", reminiscent of Averof, express the opinion of several members of the opposition.

Samaras has made it clear that any MPs who will not give a confidence vote to Papademos’ government will also be deleted.

S. Hatzigakis: Samaras has turned ND to …POL.AN.

The now independent MP Sotiris Hatzigakis made a strong statement against the president of ND Antonis Samaras, saying inter alia that the party "has turned into Political Spring. Samara’s ND has become a little scrap like Political Spring. Not sure if it's his right, but I feel sorry because the party I been serving for 37-38 years has ended up like this in Samara’s hands."

Earlier, ND announced that Hatzigakis had been thrown out of the PG of the party with a letter to the president of parliament Philipos Petsalnikos, while the procedures for his removal from the party will commence immediately.
