ND’s reaction still unknown
Panos Kamenos remembered the word "donkeys " that
was used by infrastructure vice minister Asterios Rontoulis on the
ministers and MPs of PASOK. He returned the cue to Rontoulis saying that
"in my village they say that when donkeys mate with horses they give
mules as offspring that cannot reproduce."
Speaking in parliament, Kamenos clarified that he will stand by his
threats and noted: "I disagree with the government and will not give a
vote of confidence despite the fact that my party supports it."
The ND MP explained that "it is unprecedented to discuss
programmatic statements on a government that has not yet been voted but
is made by the same ministers of the one that resigned earlier. I regret
that the PM is not here. They must have told him to avoid me because
they know that I disagree. According to the Papademos’ speech the new
government is not for a short term but for 5 years."
Moreover, Kammenos attacked fiercely the environment minister
George Papaconstantinou, who was on the ministerial benches, accusing
him of "falsifying statistics of the Greek economy" and raised questions
about whether the former PM was preparing "a much earlier entry to the
IMF, whether "a family member" was involved in speculative games against
the country" and claimed publication of the French newspaper "Le Monde"
to throw accusations to Lucas Papademos too, saying he was "a leading
member of Goldman Sachs".
