Crete: Dutch children clown stabs Russian boy to steal laptop and mobile phone

A hotel clown from the Netherlands, 20, stabbed a Russian boy, 12, after stealing his laptop and mobile phone, Greek media report on Wednesday. The perpetrator had left the boy wounded at the parking slot. He was arrested by the police. The boy had to be transferred to an Athens hospital for treatment. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in a hotel in Iraklio, short before the clown started his program.
Citing local police officers, media report that after the stabbing the hotel animator concluded his entertainment program and left the hotel carrying the stolen goods in a bag. When he accidentally crossed with a police car, he threw the bag away. Reason enough for the policemen to get hold of him, search the bag content and question him. The man confessed his act and even showed to police where he had hidden the knife.
The boy was stabbed several times in the back and one hand.
He was vacationing on Crete together with his mother. She had reported him missing.
The 20-year-old suspect was a member of the hotel’s animation team for children.
