Film to be Made on Greek Hero ‘Theseus’

A film based on famed Greek hero “Theseus” is currently in production and is slated for a 2013 release.
In Greek Mythology, Theseus is believed to be the son of Poseidon, though there has been much debate as to who his father actually was; some believe it was Aegeus, for whom the Aegean Sea was named after. Theseus is most noted for defeating the Minotaur.
Described as an “epic mythical adventure,” “Theseus” has yet to be cast. It is being produced by Kalliope Films, and Javor Gardev (“Zift”) is attached to the project as director. With the film expected to be heavy on special effects, Hollywood visual effects pro Korey J. Cauchon will lend his expertise to the look of the film, while designer Joseph C. Pepe of the blockbuster hit “Avatar” has been tapped to create the grand mythical monsters.
