The Greek Diethnes Vima publishing house will put the book “Los Cinco luchadores cubanos en las cárceles de EE.UU.” (The Five Cuban Fighters in US Prisons) up for sale next week, an initiative aimed at bringing information about the cause of these antiterrorists to a wider sector of Greek readers, and also at reactivating solidarity and to incorporate more supporters of this cause in Greece.
The head of the publishing house, Natasha Terlexi, said that it’s a complete and updated text, and pointed out the importance of spreading, and explain in a comprehensive way the case of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
The news agency adds that the volume highlights the personalities and lives of the Cuba heroes, making their revolutionary commitment and work in defense of their homeland very clear, which has nothing to do with the image of spies that has been given of them, she stated.
With a prologue by Nikos Karandreas, president of the Greek-Cuban Friendship Association, the first part of the book was made from the work of the five Cubans themselves, while the second part includes letters and poems by these antiterrorist fighters.
Its first presentation will take place on June 5 at the Cuban embassy to Athens, although the publishing house is organizing presentations in different cities of the country, including the Greek capital.
Present at the launching will be Cuban musicians and artists. New initiatives of support and solidarity will be announced during the presentation.
