Ancient Greek coins auction in New York

|
A rare collection of ancient Greek coins is auctioned in NewYork.
The set, comprised of 642 coins, depicting gods and historical figures are expected to fetch up to 8 million dollars.
One of the highlights features an image of Alexander the Great - which was used during the time of his campaign in India more than 2000 years ago.
British coin expert Paul Hill says collectors consider ancient Greek coins to be some of the finest and most artistic currency ever produced.
The coins depict such iconic ancient Greek images as gods, minotaurs, and Alexander the Great in battle. The rarest coin in the collection, engraved with pictures of a satyr and a griffin, is about 6,000 years old and estimated to be worth $650,000.
The collection was gathered from across the ancient Greek empire, which included parts of modern-day Libya and Pakistan.
