Letter to a Queen

Her majesty
The Queen of Morocco came again this year to Corfu.

She is staying in one of the most luxurious hotels on the island.
Each “night” costs 90000 euros.

We say “night” because the day costs even more.
During the summer of 2010, she bought from a well-known toy store in our town, toys worth 30.000 euro for her kids.
A little further from the hotel where the beautiful Queen resides, there are the ruins of an abandoned pasta factory.
In the ruins live, under conditions of unbelievable misery, tens of immigrants from Morocco.
Besides the threat of famine, they are also facing the fear of the neonazi gangs.
We organized meals for them and helped as much as we could for their survival.
We cannot continue indefinitely, we do not have the means.
We kindly ask her majesty to move into the adjacent suite, which has about the same size but costs only 45000 euros per night. Also, to devote some time to play with her kids and with the toys she has already gotten for them (probably her kids haven’t even seen all of them).
By this way 75000 euros will become available.
With 75000 euros her citizens can live in decent conditions, during their time in a foreign country.

I know it is difficult… even Marie Antoinette could not do it.

But she can try.
