Olympiacos-Melbourne Match: Ticket Selling Frenzy

Olympiacos F.C. plays against the Australian Melbourne Victory on May 19. The friendly game is going to be the second after almost 35 years.
This may have been one of the reasons why the Greek Diaspora struggle to find a single ticket for the match.
President of the Greek football club, Vaggelis Marinakis, stated that “it is an honor for the team of Piraeus. We hope we will entertain our expatriates with our aggressive football style.”
“We are happy about the invitation,” added Olympiacos player Avraam Papadopoulos, “and we are really looking forward to meeting our fans.”
The Greek team announced some offers for game tickets. The Ultimate Olympiacos Fan Package, for example, costs $150 and includes, among other things, a Platinum Game Day Ticket.
This is the ultimate dream of Greeks living in Australia. Besides watching the game, buying this ticket gets a fan in to attend the team’s practice the day before (May 18), meet the players and take photographs, and even ask for a signed autograph. Unfortunately, this package only has 500 available seats.
Melbourne’s stadium is expected to be full of spectators and fans of both teams during the game.
