An international gang has stolen personal data
As protothema.gr has been informed, according to data available to Visa, an international gang has stolen many passwords of cards (debit or credit) which it then uses to either withdraw money or make purchases.
Consequently, banks have cancelled over 50000 cards so far. Simultaneously, they notify their clients of these actions, calling them to get new cards issued.
The efforts of data theft are common in all countries of the world.
They are usually done by sending an email referring to the blocking of cards and the need for new information from the owners, who, however, have now become suspicious.
However, it seems that hackers have managed a significant blow to the security systems of banks…
