The decision for Skopje will be announced on December 5

Announcement by the International Court of Justice

The decision of the International Court of Justice in Hague for Skopje’s action against Greece will be issued in the morning of Monday, December 5.

After the refusal of NATO members to accept the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as a member of the Alliance at the summit in Bucharest in 2008, the Skopje government appealed to the International Court of Justice saying that Athens violated the interim agreement of September 13 1995.

Greece and FYROM presented their claims during the hearing and through written submissions:
-   FYROM asked the judges to declare that Greece breached its obligations arising from paragraph 1 of Article 11 of the interim agreement
-   Greece is asking the Court to declare that it has no jurisdiction to rule on the request of Skopje and if the claim is rejected declare the accusations of FYROM as groundless.
