Taxi motorists utter threats yet again...

"There will be problems if Ragousis' proposals become law"

A violent attack against Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Yiannis Ragousis was launched by the President of the Syndicated Taxi Motorists, Mr. Thymios Lymperopoulos, sending a clear warning to the government not to sign the regulations that have been leaked.

“There will be ugly developments if there are wrong decisions made by the government tomorrow”, he said.

The plan to deregulate the profession is expected to be passed by the cabinet on Tuesday, while it will be the barometer of protests in the industry.

Mr. Lymperopoulos did not hesitate to characterize the minister as “ignorant, naïve and manipulative”, noting that if his proposals pass as legislation, then it will be unconstitutional since it provides for a deregulation without rules.

About the fines imposed by the ministry to those who transferred taxi permits in recent years and did not declare the entire amount, he stated that the tramsfers are defined by ministerial decisions and thus, what the ministry wishes to pass is illegal.
