Schäuble admits "Plan B" - Venizelos' urgent telephone call

Dramatic developments, pressure mounts

The pressure on our country grows by the minute, and developments are dramatic…

The Spiegel publication of a “Plan B” from the German government in case our country leaves the Euro was so detailed that it de facto excludes any attempts of journalistic scenario-crafting.

Wolfgang Schäuble confirmed the plan: As Reuters states, when asked about the Spiegel publication, he stated that “The German government must consider all options”.

His statements to ZDF moved along a similar wavelength: “We’d be a bad government if we did not try to get ready for things that some consider impossible”.

Set against these statements, it became known that late at night, Vice President and Finance Minister of the Greek government, Evangelos Venizelos spoke by phone with his German counterpart.

Whatever was discussed, is easy to conclude…
