ERT-successor announced, domain-name not registered; somebody else did though lol

I’m afraid, we have to do with people who suffer from acute lack of professionalism. Minister in charge of media (ERT) announced on Tuesday evening the creation of the new public broadcast company of Greece: NERIT (New Hellenic Radio Internet Television). However it turns out, that his team forgot to register the domain name “nerit.gr” in advance, that is before or at least immediately after the announcement.
On Wednesday morning,  somebody apparently woke up early in the morning and registered the domain name.
Greek media claim that the government attempted to get the name and annul its registration to  – most likely – a private person. But this was not possible.
If the new Greek public broadcaster will want to use this name, it will have to pay quite an amount of money to buy it.

Unless the government decides NERIT is not the proper name for the new public broadcaster, after all. Of course, that would mean extra money to create the new logo etc. But spending money is the hidden talent of every Greek government, no?

PS but they still can register in nerit.eu, nerit.net or nerit.whatever…
