According to publications, the Office for Combating Economic Crimes is investigating the deputies and Evangelos Meimarakis is among them. He declared that the leak of such information against specific politicians is creating political instability "at a time when the Greek parliament prepares to take decisions crucial for the country's future."
A little later, Evangelos Meimarakis informed his deputies about his decision to transfer his mandate to them until the release of the report of the supervisory authorities. Then, he informed the party leaders about the content of his meeting with the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court.
The Parliament’s press centre stated that Evangelos Meimarakis denies any connection with the data contained in the publications.
