Tripadvisor Puts Three Greek Beaches on Top 10 – Including number 1

British travelers have chose Europe’s 10 breathtaking beaches for the travel website tripadvisor.co.uk and three Greek beaches are among them – including Navagio Beach, also known as Shipwreck Beach, on the Ionian island of Zakynthos. Greece’s beaches are proving a lure even during a crushing economic crisis that has made this year’s tourism season fall short of expectations.
Of Navagio, one of the travel site’s senior analysts wrote:  “Hands down – the most gorgeous beach! The water is so bright blue it glows, the sand is soft, and the shipwreck is amazing! Amazing place to spend an hour, take unbelievable pictures, and swim in gorgeous water!”
Italian, Spanish and Portuguese beaches can also be found on the list. Number five went to  Eggremni Beach on Lefkada island. “The scenery is breathtaking and the sea has a scent of magic,” reported a British traveler reminding everyone that many amazing beaches are located in the Ionian islands. Number seven went to Elafonissi Beach on Crete. A British traveler was quoted as saying that, “The lagoon is so pretty, the water is crystal clear and the sand is clean,” something the crisis hasn’t touched.
