‘Onassis, The Play’ Offers Insight into Shipping Tycoon’s Rise to Success and Personal Life

Aristotle Onassis is famous around the world for being one of the most successful shipping magnates in history. He is also known for his personal life – his marriage to Jackie Kennedy Onassis, his relationship with Maria Callas, among rumors that also swirled around his rise to success. A new take on Onassis’ life is hitting the Hollywood stage in a one-man play.
“Onassis, The Play” tells the story of the Greek billionaire as written and acted by Anthony Skordi. Skordi, who trained at the Drama Center of London and has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as the Moving Theater Company, wanted to tell Onassis’ story he says, because “a lot of lies have been told about Onassis; people have made stuff up about him and I’ve written this because I want to set the record straight [on] who the real man was and what made him tick.”
The world premiere of “Onassis, The Play” is September 14 at the Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood. The production is asking for donations, or for people to volunteer their time in helping with duties at the theater. For more information, visit www.onassistheplay.info/
