Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens Organizes Lecture on Ionian Islands

The Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens has organized a talk on the Ionian islands as well as their historical and cultural impact on Greece.
Professor Catherine Morgan, director of the British School of Athens and Professor of Classical Archeology at Kings College in London, is the main speaker of the event. Her research work focuses on early Iron Age as well Archaic Greece and  especially historical and cultural achievements of those times, especially in the Corinthian Gulf and the Ionian islands.
Despite their close proximity, the Ionian islands appear to have many cultural differences. They consequently form an ideal test ground for many ideas about island life,  considering also the impact of their physical geography and of the wider political contexts to which they belonged, stresses Neos Kosmos.
