President Obama Calls PM Samaras to Express Support

US-President Barack Obama reportedly called Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Monday afternoon and assured him that the USA will support Greece’s reform efforts.
President Obama congratulated Samaras for winning the June 17 elections and leading the coalition government and asked him about his health condition.
Obama assured the Greek PM Samaras that the US will keep supporting Greece’s efforts to remain in the euro zone, to maintain the country’s European perspective and to bolster the economy. Obama told Samaras that he would help Greece in those efforts.
The telephone conversation between the two leaders took place two hours after Samaras was released from Atticon hospital where he underwent eye surgery which lasted twenty minutes.
Shortly after 3 o’ clock in the afternoon, Samaras was seen with a bandage on his right eye, waving at journalists and reporters waiting outside the hospital.
