A warfare focusing on the mother of all battles against the Drachma when the father of all battles turned to be the euro (See also Spain. Ireland and the rest). No, I do not try to wash clean the Greek politicians who brought the country to this misery we are soaked in today, neither part of the society that profited from corruption, favouritism, nepotism and all the other society disasters.
I am just referring to the latest stand of Greek reporting, especially after the results of May 6 elections, and the uni-sono pro euro campaign performed under a fierce anti-drachma strategy. From early in the morning until late in the evening Greek media and political party representatives ‘fight’ in front of our TV screens whether this party’s strategy is right or wrong.
At the same time, many Greek citizens walk their own Calvary on a daily basis. However the problems the average Greek citizen faces are reduced to a superficial approach with a minimum reference of the issues to be addressed.
Therefore, I post below the essay of Noam Chosmky, the renowned US linguist and philosopher, “10 Media Manipulation Strategies of the Public”.
Everyone who has been living in this country for at least the last 10-15 years will very well recognize the media coverage when the country was entering the euro. Remember the euphoria? 10 Manipulations Strategies
