Vasso: "A politician should go to jail" - Venizelos:"Whoever thinks they should, topple the government"!

Turmoil in the Parliamentary Labour finance meeting of PASOK

PASOK MP Vasso Papandreou showed her anger after the meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Department of Finance meeting, which were called by Evangelos Venizelos to participate in it, in order to inform them.

Mrs. Papandreou intensely complained on the law bill tabled by the government in the House last week, so that her voice resounded in the corridors of the Parliament building.

“The bill cannot pass as is”, cried Mrs. Papandreou. “Ordinary ‘beasts of burden’ cannot keep paying the bill”, she reportedly stated and added that the phenomenon that under 70000 income individuals cannot keep paying more than 100000 income individuals.

Mrs. Papandreou caused a stir when she argued that PASOK has opened 77 agencies since its time in office, while the Troika has requested that agencies are shut down. The ruling party MP requested that these 77 agencies are closed down, while she underlined that tax reports of politicians must be checked concerning the last few decades.

Concluding, Mrs. Papandreou stated that some politicians should be sent to jail!

The climate, however, was generally elevated, as four MPs, namely Mr. Katselis, Dalara, Kitzeris and Salayiannis, expressed strong disagreements with regards to Article 37 of the law bill, related to labor, even creating the impression that they will not be voting for it.

Evangelos Venizelos’ return to the meeting raised aversion, who “answered” Mrs. Papandreou, stating: “If you think that the government is ineffective or has no moral foundation, depose it!”. He added, “Otherwise, you give the impression that you disagree pointlessly, and you are exposed”…

The hearing was interrupted shortly before 15.30 and will be continued shortly after 19.00.
