After the Kouselas report...
The reason was everything stated on Thursday, during the Parliamentary Labour Economics group meeting of PASOK, where an argument between Mr. Kouselas and Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos broke out.
Mr. Kouselas questioned the Finance Minister on what steps have been taken to combat large-scale tax nonpayers, to which the latter replied, questioning Mr. Kouselas about his tenure in the post of deputy minister.
In reply, Mr. Kouselas claimed that he had delivered such a list, an action which he immediately connected to his departure from the post.
Shortly thereafter, the former deputy minister explained to reporters that the list is about 3800 individuals owing huge amounts of taxes of over 1 million euros each.
Mr. Peponis has commissioned a search to prosecutor Popi Papandreou, with a mandate to examine the issue and detect whether any non-political persons have committed infidelity or any other punishable offense.
